Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
Five minutes more and I will be turning forty-two (42). Twelve midnight will soon be over and I had spend another worthy year of my life.
Sabi nila life begins at forty (40), now I believed that. Kase remembering this past two years there are so many heart breaks that I endure, but compare to all the blessings dami rin palang blessing na dumaan.
Actually every year, during my birthday it’s my habit to remember and compare my past blessings over my obstacles, and every time without fail, my blessings are more than the humps and bumps I encounter.
My father used to tell us before, everytime we complain, food then are still scarce, and life was hard “laman tyan din yan” meaning it can still make your stomach full.
Not knowing what values he’s trying to teach us then, now I understand he is trying to teach us the meaning of gratitude.
I will tell you my secret, those people who know us, our background, what kind of place where we leave, where we came from, will believe what I am telling you.
Gratitude is the ultimate secret of success, this is what I proved for my forty years of living. It’s not hard work, not intelligence, and definitely, it’s not resilience. These are just part of the equation.
But why have I told you that gratitude is the ultimate secret of success because even though you’re an intelligent hardworking person with so much resilience but you don’t know how to be thankful you will never achieve the true meaning of success which is happiness and contentment.
Gratitude equate contentment, and contentment equates happiness and I think that is the total package of success.
Sometimes we have to think deeper, feel deeper. Sabi nga ni Papa smurf and this quote I will never forget.
It doesn’t matter where you came from. What matters is who you choose to be. And I choose to be happy. How about you what and how you choose to be?
